Top Five Tips for Storing Your Construction Adhesive
Do you have construction adhesive left in the cartridge after use? You don't have to waste it; just store it right. If you seal and store the adhesive correctly, you can use it again - and again.

To get the best performance out of your adhesive, follow these storage and usage tips:

·         Prevent your construction adhesive from freezing. Even solvent-based mastics take time to thaw if stored in below-freezing temperatures. Water-based mastics freeze at 32°F and will take longer to thaw if not stored properly. Keep product above 40°F to eliminate thawing time.
·         The warmer the construction adhesive is, the easier it will be to apply.
·         The colder the construction adhesive is, the less likely it will flow smoothly out of the cartridge and penetrate substrate surface. Colder temperatures also can extend dry time.
·         Avoid storing your construction adhesive above 70°F. When an adhesive is exposed to high heat, it can cure prematurely and dry out, reducing shelf life. For best results, store indoors.
  • Don't store your construction adhesive outdoors, either. Moisture can weaken the cardboard walls of the cartridge, causing the cartridge to crush under pressure.

Forward these tips to your customers to help them maximize their adhesive performance - and their satisfaction with both the product and you. We look forward to sending you more tips now and then to help your customers get the most out of Titebond construction adhesives
